Generally people who are allergic to dogs know they are. Their eyes water and they sneeze and wheeze in close proximity. Individuals who have always had dogs in the house usually don’t have a problem. You could have a simple blood test performed, a RAST to dogs, to settle the matter.COPD suggests you may smoke. If you do this is likely to be the largest single component in your airways disease.
It is impossible for us to diagnose this problem with any degree of certainty. However both my Grandchildren were Asthmatic and were much better when the dog was not there. Your best bet would be to consult your GP they can test for allergies and should be able to confirm wether or not they are affecting you. Good luck.

I think you should see an allergist and get some tests done. They can do a skin or blood test on you to see if you are allergic to dogs. Most people are not allergic to dogs though. They are allergic to animal fur or dander. I know how you feel as I have pet allergies and asthma also. Hope you feel better.
