Generally people who are allergic to dogs know they are. Their eyes water and they sneeze and wheeze in close proximity. Individuals who have always had dogs in the house usually don’t have a problem.
You could have a simple blood test performed, a RAST to dogs, to settle the matter.COPD suggests you may smoke. If you do this is likely to be the largest single component in your airways disease.

See an allergist and have skin testing done.

It is impossible for us to diagnose this problem with any degree of certainty. However both my Grandchildren were Asthmatic and were much better when the dog was not there. Your best bet would be to consult your GP they can test for allergies and should be able to confirm wether or not they are affecting you. Good luck.

Perhaps this site can help, this is an article I found on allergies; it specialises on natural remedies & I find is a really good source of info. Please type in relevant words in search (eg asthma or allergies).

If one of your trigger factors is dog then yes, try removing the dogs for a while and see if you improve.

try hepa air filter units, argos do a really good selection, also use a vac with a hepa filter.Vac everyday.this usually takes a lot of the allergens away caused by your furry pets. Also, ask someone else to take them outside and give them a good brush everyday.Dogs do make asthma worse as do cats, but if you want to keep them, these few simple steps will work wonders to helping your asthma.

I think you should see an allergist and get some tests done. They can do a skin or blood test on you to see if you are allergic to dogs. Most people are not allergic to dogs though. They are allergic to animal fur or dander. I know how you feel as I have pet allergies and asthma also. Hope you feel better.
