Dog will not stop eating poop?
By · CommentsI have a 1 1/2 year old Boston Terrier who will not stop eating poop. He has even gone as far to wait until my other dog finishes pooping so that he can go run and eat it. I have tried vitamins, powders, chewable tabs, pineapple, meat tenderizer, and everything else under the sun. This dog is well fed and always has food available so there shouldn’t be a need for him to eat poop. What if anything can I do at this point to stop this nasty habit?
My dog eats other dogs poop, how do i make her stop?
By · CommentsIve had my dog for about 2 months, and she didnt start eating poop until now. We live in an apartment, and other residents dont pick up after their dog, so there is always poop on the grass when i take my dog out. I always have to take the poop out of my dogs mouth when she gets some.. which is even more gross!
Does pyrantel kill hookworms instantly in a dog?
By · CommentsWe dewormed our dog with Pyrantel. Will that kill the hookworm instantly or will it take a few days?
Can puppy give hookworm to my other dog?
By · CommentsI am getting a Boxer puppy tomorrow. This puppy was treated yesterday for hookworm, there were 8 puppies in the litter and 6 died already from hookworm so there was about a 50/50 chance of him making it. Tomorrow will be 48 hours since he was given treatment and the vet said if he makes it through 48 hours then he will be ok. My concern is I have a 4 year old Maltipoo, so even though the puppy has been given treatment will this be a threat to my other dog? Are there any precautions I should take to keep my other dog safe? Is it a bad idea to bring the puppy into my home so soon? Thanks for any information
Well if it is that contagious to me and my other dog what should I do the next few weeks? Should I keep him in his cage most of the time?
Dog question? — Veterinarian help preferred?
By · CommentsBoomer,my male Chocolate Labrador is 7 years old. about 2 summers ago (summer of 07) he began limping and was visibly in pain. when Boomer would go up the stairs to come to bed his knees would make a clicking noise. I became concerned, but since he was not in pain when he ran and not always in pain I thought i would watch him for awhile and if the pain got worse immediately take him to the vet. for the rest of the year he was, for the most part, pain free. However, that winter (2008) he began to show the same symptoms. he was really in pain, but again not when running. This time, though, I had watched him in pain long enough so i took him to the vet. It turns out he tore both ACL ligaments in his knees (I felt TERRIBLE) the vet said this was common, especially since he is a large and active dog (he is 27 inches tall at the shoulder and weighs 120 lbs, but he is a perfect weight, says the vet) She said that she would highly recommend having surgery on both knees. The price was too much and there was no way I could afford that surgery. The vet said she would give us some time to think and she also told us that the ligaments had began to heal on their own. We were given some pain pills that lasted about a month. After that he has had nothing. since that winter Boomer has been in absolutely no pain at all. the clicking is completely gone and even through the winter he was pain free. My question is, if his ACL’s have healed themselves, would the surgery be a necessary thing to do at this point?
I know i should call the vet. I am trying to get others opinions since he is not in pain and it does not seem completely necessary to call a vet at this point.
My mom has been sick for over the last three days of a rash all over her body, aching joints(shoulder, knees, legs, wrists, etc), and fever. We took her to ER and they did Catscan and tested her for meningitis and all tests came back negative. My mom stated that she went over to her rental property to clean it out of which the renter had a dog she stated they she didn’t notice the rash until a day later. Her legs and knees aches so bad that it is hard for her to walk and the tip of her fingers were somewhat blue??? The doctors have no idea what’s going on so they want to recommend her to a vascular doctor. If anyone are familiar with these symptoms please help!
