Posted by: | CommentsWhenever my dog is out on a walk she always seems to go for other dogs, it starts off okay and then she suddenly goes for them after sniffing for a bit. She is a lovely dog and loves other people but is just a bit weird about other dogs…
Some infomation about my dog….
She is a collie cross German Shepard.
She is 4.
She is a rescue dog but did live with a family before but they had to give her up because they were too busy.
She hasn’t been neutered yet.
I would really appreciate some help from all you doggy experts out there!!

Nutrisource Dog Food….good Quality?
Posted by: | CommentsMe and my bf were wondering about Nutri Source dog food for our dogs. We have 6 dogs at the moment(We have 2 rescued Borders who will be going to Specialty Homes throught a local border collie rescue. (absolutlely terrified of people).
2 year old neutered male border collie (Rescue)
2 year old female spayed border collie (Rescue)
1 year old male intact cattle dog – Does go to comformation shows, as well as agility, daily herding, dock dogs, an hour jog morning and night, daily swims at the lake, as well as a few other things. He is thin due to his activity level.
5 year old male neutered cattle dog – Active, but at the proper weight. Started on herding, and agility. Swims at the lake.
11 week old male intact Border collie (will be a working/show dog) – Quite acitve. Swims, plays, hour walk morning and night.
7 year old male neutered doberman – Not very active. Has hip and elbow issues. Heavy. Has a LARGE appitite.
Would Nutrisource dog food be a good brand to feed? Ive always fed Tuffys Gold. But our local distributer isnt selling this brand any longer. In all my dogs feedings i put a spoon of whiskas wet food as well as K9 Nutritional Supplement (once daily) and a tablespoon of Glucosomine for the doberman.
How Big Does A Fence For All These Dogs Have To Be? Length And Width? Thanks?
Posted by: | CommentsSo, me, my sons and my step brother(Including many more people) are rescuing 11 dogs that are on death row, was just wondering how big of a fence we need to build. For enough running space etc. Also which is the best kind of fence out there? Don’t have a problem on the money just need a little bit of tips, we have an open yard so we don’t want the dogs to get hit by a car or something. If you can give me a estimate on how big you think it’ll be i’d appreciate it. Didn’t get much answer hopefully i’ll get more, and yeah haha sorry if you guys mis understood what i wrote earlier. I have 3 boys ages 29,25,and 23 they have their own families and are taking some of the dogs with them. Leaving me at 6 dogs left. I will have 100% support from my FAMILY and the rescue groups supporting us for this in Flagstaff AZ.
Holistic, Homemade Hedgehog Diet?

I feed my pack a Raw (as much as possible) Homemade Diet and I would love to do the same with the 9month old Hedgehog I have rescued. The thought of feeding him commercial dog/can food, be it kibble or canned, makes me very uneasy due to my advanced knowledge of what’s actually in them!
I would love to know of any recipes, advice or tips on creating a balanced diet for one of these little creatures with fresh food at home. Any info on what they eat in the wild would do too!
Question About Female Dog In Heat?
Posted by: | CommentsOk,first let me start by saying I have three female dogs,two are already spayed.The third is a puppy that I rescued from the side of the road in April.The pup seems to be around 5-6 months old by my guess.I Have gotten her shots,wormed her,etc.I have been trying to get help from a local organization to get her spayed,but they are having some kind of issue and not taking new applicants for a month.So of course,she seems to have come into heat.I have only dealt with one other dog being in heat ,my German shepherd-she only left little tiny specks of blood,and it stopped in two weeks,this pup,who I believe to be part choc.lab and part boxer is still bleeding(been three weeks)and it she seems to be spotting much more than my shepherd.I cannot afford a vet fee right now,I was not planning on having another dog,can anyone tell me how much dogs typically bleed?Is three weeks normal?As I said,I always spay or neuter my pets,and I am no expert at this.Also please no rude comments,I just need some advice,dog diapers are out of the question because she will just chew on them.Thanks and GOD-bless

7 beautiful mix breed puppies. mixed with golden retriever, black lab, and great pyranees. perfect family temperament, great with kids. could be rescue dogs. two all white females, two black females, one dark brown boy, one golden boy, and my favorite male–stumpy–who almost lost his foot. he has no toes on his right foot, was born with ambilical cord issues, and we saved his little cute stump. please reserve stumpy for an especially loving family who wants an inside dog:) please respond with request for pics if you want them. they will be weanned in two weeks.

I just rescued him today off of a lady on craigslist.. She did tell me that he prefers to be outside, but in the evening/night he sleeps indoors.
We tried bringing him in and it lasted maybe half n hour and he was pawing at the door and whining to go out. So, now he is outside on my front patio tied up on a decent size tie and is just fine. Sleeping in a dog house with a food/water bowl close by and is just perfectly content and happy.
Is this ok??. Inside he just seemed so skittish and not at all wanting to be inside nor happy about it.. i felt so bad. But as soon as I let him out, he was fine again.
We are moving into our new house in a month and there we have a HUGE fenced in yard, so we wont need to tie him up for much longer.
Oh, Also the lady that owned him was a single younger woman and no men were around…so the dog seems to love me (maybe he even think I am her??).. and he minds me and listens to me, but he is like terrified of my fiance and the dog is for him. He has wanted another Heeler for such a long time now, but the dog seems like he is not wanting to warm up to him so far, I KNOW its only been not even a full 24 hours though. He does work mon-fri all day though, and I am home alone with the pets.. So, I am thinking he is going to wind up being my dog… Do dogs that are used to being with 1 s*x, ever warm up to the other?

Could My Cats Have Heartworms?
Posted by: | CommentsWe found a lost little dog and took him in so he wouldnt get hit by a car. He lived in our house along with our two cats. We couldnt keep him so a family member who rescues dogs took him for us, so that maybe he would have a chance at being adopted. She called us a few weeks ago and told us he had stage 3 heartworms. This got me wondering if my cats could have gotten heartworms from him as well. Are heartworms contagious?
