Could We Sell Homemade Dog Food?
ByWe make about 50% of our dog food – to save money, improve nutrition, etc. We have always toyed with the idea of selling our homemade dog food. Now that we have a bit more free time and the farmer’s markets are opening, we are honestly considering it.
I’m wondering specifically about the legal issues. Doesn’t the FDA regulate dog food? So, would we need some kind of license or food analysis? I’m sure that if we just sold some jars around town, there would be no repercussions.
However, what are the rules about selling dog food? Even just a link would be great.

Your local health administration can best inform you of this. But it is a very good idea. The concerns of bateria levels in animals are not the same as for humans.
The guidlines are not as stringent, so check with your State Health department.
