She (the owner of the cat) is keeping it under control but it was very hard work to start off with, medication frequently. There is medicines they can inhale and my friend found a baby inhaler easier than a cat one. Steroids have their use but not good long term.

A friend’s cat has asthma. If your indoor cat is coming in contact with the one that goes outside, you want to get all that FIV/FELV testing done to make sure your cat doesn't have feline leukemia. Even if the other one appears fine, they can still carry it.

Sounds like the vet may have misdiagnosed. ???
