had her spayed but she’s pregnant part 2 from last night?

By admin

thank you to those responses, well those that weren’t jerks, for the ones that don’t know the details let me fill you in,i rescued a choc lab a while back and she was just coming into heat when we had her spayed,it just fell like that we hadn’t noticed till we loaded her up to go,anyway the vet did the surgery or was suposed to,the vet i use was out and there was a fill in vet there,we were told to not let her around male dogs for 2 weeks,we had a sudden death in the family and had to get our neighbors to look after her,we found out later they ended up putting her in the fenced yard with their male choc lab, well i haven’t had to take any of my pets to the vet in a while and i noticed my lab was looking to fat and then noticed her nipples looking weird and called to take her to the vet, couldn’t get a hold of the one i normaly use,so i took her to another vet and yes she’s pregnant,i was PISSED,i have since drove to the old vet’s to deal with them and their no longer their, figures, she has the scar so what the hell did the vet do,i don’t get it when my boston/french bulldog i rescued got parvo the vet was so good,he made it through, anyway,i have found out she isn’t the only animal they messed up,or i’m not the only client the messed over,so now the problem is she’s to far along to abort them,i won’t kill them or put them down once their born,it’s not her,my,or their fault,it’s that dam vet,the new vet said it’s to late to abort so she’s having them, the problem is we don’t know how the boston/frenchie got parvo less than 2 years ago and it’s in the ground now,my house is safe so thats no worry, from what i can find and also the new vet says parvo lives in the ground for 7 years,i don’t want to take chances on the pups and want to give them a chance at life,so what can i do till their old enough to have 2 round of shots, the mom is up to date on shots and is healthy, she is to hyper to come in the house unless i put her in a room by herself or the utility room, but by doing so i’ll be putting my boston/frenchie in danger if she’s a overly protective mother,i can’t make the so called old vet do anything cause their not there and have 12 clients including me suing their asses,so please no jerks and can someone please help or point me in the right direction,is there something to kill the parvo in the ground or will it come through the floor if we build her a pen with a wood floor,i watch my bo/french suffer so much i don’t want to let them go through it,thank you in advance

Convenient that the sire was also a Labrador isn’t it?

I don’t buy the story at all.

Holy crap that was a long question.

Who was a jerk to you? Clearly you had no control over your dog becoming pregnant since you thought you had her spayed.

Is your vet willing to do a spay abort? That would just take care of the entire situation. If not, do you have a friend or relative who could take care of her until the puppies are ready to be rehomed? It honestly just sounds too dangerous to risk all the puppies catching Parvo. I mean you could try re bleaching everything just to make sure the virus is gone, including bleaching the grass outside.

ETA: I liked someone elses suggestion. I think you should make the vet pay for boarding her somewhere with the puppies.

bleach will kill parvo, spray your yard, with the bleach, spray anything they will come in contact with

Bleach will kill parvo virus. If you were to pour it all over your yard, it would kill a lot more than the virus though. You could also remove the top layer of dirt ( at least 2 feet deep.) Building a pen with a wooden or concrete floor would work too.
As far as the dog being too hyper to come inside, if you take time to train her, she could be a great indoor pet.

It can be killed with bleach. Lots of bleach on every thing. Typically you should use 4 oz bleach to a gallon of water but I have heard different dilutions. The mixture wont discolor your greenery either. Good luck to you. You may also want to contact your humane shelter on advice. They may even be able to help you find a foster family.

I have read this thru twice now and I still can’t make heads or tails out of it. I do not understand what you are trying to say or what the question is. Sorry, but maybe if you used punctuation/capital letters and didn’t ramble on, I’d understand it better.
The best I can understand is that you want retribution against a vet that said he spayed your dog. Ask a reputable vet what medical association to report him to. Then go to your local Better Business Bureau and report them too. The state bureau of consumer affairs also may help.
Now as far as parvo goes, it takes 6 months to a year to get rid of it but you’d have to ask a reputable vet. Bleach is the only thing that I know of that kills it but I’m no expert. Good luck.

Parvo can live in the ground for a long time.. it doesnt matter if you keep the pups in the house, as you can track the virus in on your shoes! Your other dogs can track it in on their feet.

Short of soaking your entire yard in bleach, there’s no way to ensure that the virus is destroyed from your yard.

Shots are not 100% guarantee also.. it can also take a few weeks for the immune system to fully react to a vaccines.. honestly, your best bet would be to find a parvo-free home to take mom and pups to until they are ready to go to their new owners.
