How do you know if a golden retriever is pregnant?
ByMy dog is a female pure-bred golden retriever, about six years old. She’s never had puppies before. About two weeks ago, we came home and a male chihuahua from next door had buried under our fence and into her yard. She was in heat at the time.
When will I be able to tell if she is pregnant, and how?

spay her this week………and your problems will be over,,
if you are one of those ANTI-spay people,,, then take her for an ultrasound

I am not sure if a chihuahua could get a bigger dog pregnant. but just keep your eye on her. Is your dog spayed? If she isn’t take her to the vet and save her some pain and stress, and get her spayed.

WHY would you leave an intact female of that age ALONE outdoors while in heat? Honestly, if you or your family is not responsible enough to keep her from being pregnant then you need to have her spayed. If she isn’t even a show or working dog then she should have been spayed long ago…
So vet visit, spay now, and all will be solved. She is too old to carry and whelp so it isn’t really a question of letting her have them or not….
