try the vet, if you think she is sick. try different brandws, or canned food (dogs love it and it’s like cat or people food). if all else fails try people food with dog food, decrease the ammount until it’s only dog food. or leave her with her food. if she’s really hungry she’ll eat it

Like I just said to another asker: Don’t worry about her “starving” — dogs are not that dumb. Leave her food out, and she’ll eat it when she’s hungry. She’s refusing it right now because she’s got you “trained”: Eventually the human will give me something yummy if I keep this up. Don’t give in to her.

You can leave the food bowl to her, everyday same time. Don’t give her human food, treats and hand feed her, this will reward her not eating her food. Dogs won’t starve themselves to death.

i have 2 pomeranians and my newest one about 4 mnths old goes for cat food over hers any day, try contacting your local vet and see what they suggest…or i would recomend not feeding her all day then giving her a bowl of dog food dont worry she wont starve(they can go days without food)…she just needs to learn its either all or nothing

Find a good dog food that has a texture and taste more to her liking and stick with it. You could try feeding her twice a day, (when adult) the daily portion divided in two servings, or three to four times a day as puppy. Set each serving down for about 15 minutes. If she doesn’t eat, pick it up and don’t feed her ANYTHING until her next feeding.
Sometimes I boil chicken for chicken salad and save the stock, pouring just a bit over the kibble right before I feed my dogs and they love that.
You could also try adding just a teaspoonful of cottage cheese to the food serving, stirring it in. Sprinkle a little Brewer’s Yeast on top.
You might consider googling Dr. Pitcairn if you wanted to home cook for your dog.

You do exactly what you said you’ve already tried. You give her dog food and nothing else. You just didn’t hold out long enough to let her know that you mean business.
No need to hand-feed her … just put it in her dish and walk away. She eats it or she doesn’t. Give her 15 minutes or half an hour and if she hasn’t eaten, take it away and offer it again later. Puppies should be offered food 3 times a day.
If she doesn’t eat at all for 3 days, don’t worry. When she gets hungry enough, she WILL eat it. Stick to one kind of food so she understands that she won’t be getting anything different.
I’m assuming you’ve already had her checked by your vet, and if not (you should have) please do that. As long as the vet says she’s healthy, stick to your guns and only give her what YOU want her to have. Good Luck!

A 3-month-old is just bearly weened. Any soft food until her teeth are completely thru the gums. POMS never need table scraps! Add puppy chow a tablespoon at-a-time up to 2cups while reducing the soft food by one-quarter cup each time. Due to the gums being irritated the puppy may not appear hungry but when hungry enough it will eat. I don’t know your schedule but set a time to feed your pup each day and until you do have a chew toy available.

She won’t starve herself to death, if you put down food, she’ll eat it eventually. She just has to realize you aren’t going to cave in and give her what she wants.
