i need a beautiful name for a female standard poodle puppy any suggestions?
Bythe one i pick gets 10 points!!!!
i am hopeing there will be a black one we studded our male and we get pick of the litter
most dogs you pay good money for do not go to shelters besides you screen people or they call back and ask you if you want the dog back there are contracts you know!!!!

It’s difficult to say what a dog should be named until you learn the dog’s personality.

Veralidane – or Daine, for short. If she has any special coloration, or personality quirks, you might want to play on that. Also, perhaps think of someone you loved or something you wish you could name a child, if you can stand to. Just make sure you’re careful about naming a child after the dog!

What color is she? What’s her personality like?
I think you’ll probably be the best one to pick out a name for her. Don’t rush yourself, take your time, get to know her. I’m sure you’ll think of a perfect name.
That being said, I’ll suggest a couple names anyways.
Ani – meaning “Very Beautiful”
Ildri – (i-l-d-r-i) meaning “Fire and Peace”
Isimbi – meaning “Precious”
Those are some names I’ve used for shelter dogs (you’d be amazed at some of the names they get when they come in; I’m a volunteer, so I rename the ones with the horrible names, like Big Pimpin’ – I’m not kidding..there actually was a dog named that). They’re three of my favorite female names.

It’s a little difficult to pick out a name for a dog that you don’t know their personality. I just got a dog myself and I named her Madison.

The name Bella. Bella means “beautiful” In Italian!

Is either your dog or the mama dog a black dog? Then you have a chance.
Wait until you get the puppy, and then name it.
Why not look into rescuing Poodles that need homes, like fostering, instead of creating more that will eventually wind up in shelters?
Be sure and spay and neuter your dogs, or you will have inbred puppies. No good breeder gives ANY room for that to happen. Not for a second.
Edit: But why not rescue the ones awaiting execution? Anyway, petfinder.com has many dogs that were bred at a breeder’s.

when I named mypup.. I went with Ruby because it is her birthstone, and also it is unique. I also think that old lady names are cute, Like Mabel,Pearl,Ethel,Marge.

Our black standard poodle is named Lola and it fits her very well. We sometimes call her Lola Bella. Sometimes we sing the Kinks song to her and sometimes the Barry Manilow one (Copa Cabana)! And sometimes, for some reason, we just call her Boo. It’s a wonder she doesn’t think we’re crazy but she doesn’t seem to.
Another dog name I’ve always liked: Glory. That would fit the poodle personality, don’t you think?
