My Dog Is Sick? Any Help?
ByMy dog is 3 years old, and a half Boston terrier half chihuahua. Ever since he was born he had this weird snorting thing. He has been to th vet many times and we have spent a lot on money on tests. At first we accepted that it was reverse sneezing. Now its gotten and frequent and so bad that he does it to the point that he throws up. (foamy) So that is a sign that he cannot breathe. He has been tested for asthma. The vet says he is fine. But seriously, thats bullshit. Do you guys have any answers?

I don’t know anything for certain, but if the vomit is foamy but kind of clear/yellow, he could be throwing up bile which could indicate a number of other problems. If you go back to the vet and say, “I think he is throwing up bile,” then the vet might be more likely to investigate for other problems.
My Maltese dog throws up bile every now and then (clear/yellow/sometimes foamy). He has had an ultrasound and a biopsy which showed he has a mild case of intrahepatic liver shunts. He doesn’t need surgery or anything right now, but that could change in the future if they get worse.
Anyways, just a thought.

I have a Boston terrier beagle mix and she does the same thing. It is becuase of their nasal cavity being so short and their nose being so close to their face. It is a trait of the boston terrier were they will have a breathing fit and reverse sneezing. What my dog sounds like she is coughing or choking to death but she isnt. Dont worry your doggie is fine it is nothing to take him to the vet over and like the vet says he is fine. It might be bullshit to you but he is right and I have a dog that does the same thing every day.

Im sorry to hear that
If he satrts doing that again plug his nose so that he will stop snorting and breathe through his mouth. it sounds like a nasal problem and you might want to go to a local animal adoption at your nearby petstore so that u can just get a free second opinion

I would recommend finding a new vet. It sounds like something you need a second or perhaps third opinion. I know money can get tight, but your pups life is worth it isnt it?

Get a second opinion. My first thoughts are problems due to genetics.

go to a new vet!!!! and if he finds something, go to the old one and tell him he was wrong.
