Get a second opinion. My first thoughts are problems due to genetics.

I would recommend finding a new vet. It sounds like something you need a second or perhaps third opinion. I know money can get tight, but your pups life is worth it isnt it?

Im sorry to hear that :( If he satrts doing that again plug his nose so that he will stop snorting and breathe through his mouth. it sounds like a nasal problem and you might want to go to a local animal adoption at your nearby petstore so that u can just get a free second opinion

I have a Boston terrier beagle mix and she does the same thing. It is becuase of their nasal cavity being so short and their nose being so close to their face. It is a trait of the boston terrier were they will have a breathing fit and reverse sneezing. What my dog sounds like she is coughing or choking to death but she isnt. Dont worry your doggie is fine it is nothing to take him to the vet over and like the vet says he is fine. It might be bullshit to you but he is right and I have a dog that does the same thing every day.

I don't know anything for certain, but if the vomit is foamy but kind of clear/yellow, he could be throwing up bile which could indicate a number of other problems. If you go back to the vet and say, "I think he is throwing up bile," then the vet might be more likely to investigate for other problems.
My Maltese dog throws up bile every now and then (clear/yellow/sometimes foamy). He has had an ultrasound and a biopsy which showed he has a mild case of intrahepatic liver shunts. He doesn't need surgery or anything right now, but that could change in the future if they get worse.
Anyways, just a thought.
