Question About Female Dog In Heat?
Posted by: | CommentsOk,first let me start by saying I have three female dogs, two are already spayed. The third is a puppy that I rescued from the side of the road in April. The pup seems to be around 5-6 months old by my guess.I Have gotten her shots, wormed her, etc.I have been trying to get help from a local organization to get her spayed, but they are having some kind of issue and not taking new applicants for a month. So of course, she seems to have come into heat.I have only dealt with one other dog being in heat ,my German shepherd-she only left little tiny specks of blood, and it stopped in two weeks, this pup,who I believe to be part choc.lab and part boxer is still bleeding(been three weeks)and it she seems to be spotting much more than my shepherd.I cannot afford a vet fee right now,I was not planning on having another dog,can anyone tell me how much dogs typically bleed? Is three weeks normal? As I said,I always spay or neuter my pets, and I am no expert at this. Also please no rude comments,I just need some advice, dog diapers are out of the question because she will just chew on them. Thanks and GOD-bless
Concerned About The General Health Of My Chihuahua Who Recently Gave Birth?
Posted by: | CommentsMy chihuahua gave birth roughly 6 days ago to five puppies. I know that diarrhea is common for a few days afterwards, due to their consumption of the placentas, but, in your experiences, does it last for 6 days? It has been getting better and worse by turns, some days it is a bit more solid, and others, it is extremely watery. I have been giving her supplements (by Pet-Tabs) to help her health and milk production. Do you think this has caused her diarrhea to continue? (Her diarrhea started before I began giving her supplements.) Any information on your personal experience would be extremely helpful!
Another question that I have: I have been cautious to the point of paranoid about my dog’s health, and have been checking her teats daily for signs of inflammation and infection. Recently, her teats have seem rather heated, but she is not showing any other signs of mastitis or similar infections. She is not lethargic, has been nursing wonderfully, there is no discharge, and her puppies are gaining an average of 1oz a day, as well as having nicely rounded tummies and plenty of energy. Am I worrying for nothing?
Before I end, I just wanted to say: I have already spoken with my veterinarian about all of these concerns, and he has said to “give it a few days and see.” She went in for a check-up a week before her delivery and also on the day right after her delivery, and my vet never mentioned any problems. I am more interested in your PERSONAL EXPERIENCE with these matters, as I don’t want to risk the health of my dog. I’m not interested in “waiting and seeing,” if this does end up being a more serious issue. I want to be prepared, for both my dog and her pups. This is my first experience with newborn puppies, and I would like to learn from your personal experiences, and not from people who have no idea what they are talking about, merely commenting to say things like “Call your vet!!!!! *&#&@(!* ” and “you are a backyard breeder *&*!@(#*$ ” I am a responsible pet owner who is trying to gather all the information she can so that she can be fully prepared for whatever issues arise.
Thank you for your time!
What Should I Do About A Lazy Disrespectful Roommate?
Posted by: | CommentsMy new roommate refuses to clean up after himself and has now started smoking cigarettes indoors. He has been asked to not smoke inside because of the smell and, more importantly, I have asthma. He will not clean up his own dishes or even put away his things. My dogs have started shredding what ever he leaves on the floor. He knows that whatever touches the floor is in their territory and is subject to destruction. What should I do? The extra bedroom in my house has become his trash pit.
Questions About The Laws, Spca And Animal Cruelty/findings?
Posted by: | CommentsBefore I start on the questions I have I would like to make myself clear that, I have already looked up these questions online and cannot find an answer and with my experience on Yahoo answers I was hoping that I could possibly find my answers here. Mine and fiends hangout area is in my shed, it has been cleaned out and fixed up. This shed has no door and my mom’s boyfriend is against me having a hangout area in the backyard shed. Which is why we don’t have a door, he knocked it down so he could watch what we do and will no let us put up a door. Plus when he says something, he means it and in this case he is against me and the shed so I don’t think he is going to change his mind!
Now, lets start on the situation and the questions; I have had many, too many, stray cats run through my yard and go into my hangout area. Every time I walked in there, our stuff would be on the floor and some destroyed. Now since I love animals I don’t want to hurt them and my mom’s bf is not going to let me plant plants that repel against the cats nor anything else. I have already tried it. So my idea is to make the people who work for Animal Control jobs just a little bit easier, now the cats have pretty much stopped going in the shed but a couple of them still like it and still like to come in and destroy everything. Most of the cats have now moved to my neighbors backyard, in which have two dogs. I do not want to see what these two dogs can do to runaway cats. Oh, yeah I forgot to tell you, these cats are not strays. In fact, me and about three of my other friends have already followed these cats at night and day to see where they live and we came to a big discovery, this cat lead us to his home and there were at least 15-20 other cats just roaming this street! It was amazing and to us cruel. We thought that since all of these cats are just roaming the streets that they all must be strays. So me and my friends tried picking these cats up and taking them home, but they did not want to leave at all. They were squiggling and hissing, jumping right out of our hands. No matter what force we used we could not get these cats to leave and come home, so we got tired of it and I was about to call Animal Control but then one of the owners came out and asked us what we were doing. We told her what we were doing and what we thought about the cats. But she didn’t care, she called her husband out and they bother told us all that all of these cats are not strays and that if we tried to take one of these cats again whether it went on our property or not, she would call the police. She clearly stated that her son was a police officer as well. I have not gone back to that street since, but I still see these cats on my property and in the street waiting to get hit by a car. My mom and my two younger brothers are allergic to cats so these cats cause a very harmful threat to my mom and my siblings. Now you may be thinking right now that they do not cause a harmful threat, but my mom went to the hospital for an asthma attack because her allergic reactions got so bad it was making her hyperventilate and swell.
So here is an overview of my questions, but remember do not answer these questions without an educated guess please! This is an easy 10 points and the fact of knowing that you helped me. The following questions are questions formally made by me:
Is it against the Law to let your pet cat/dog run free on to other people’s property without some kind of consequence? And do I have the legal right as a 14 year old to call Animal Control and have these animals taken care of?
Is it legal for me to capture these cats as they run my yard and put them in a cage/large box until animal rescue comes and takes care if them?
Is it legal in Buffalo, New York to chase a lost animal through another person’s property weather it is yours or not?
Is it legal for, a 14 year old kid, to even call “Animal Control”? If so, will they ask me any questions once they get to my house? If so what and what should be my answer?
Will I get in trouble for creating a club for finding lost animals and capturing stray animals and advertising for it?

I Need Help Dealing With My Parents About Getting A Dog.?
Posted by: | CommentsMy family has a dog right now, and she is 10 years old. Since she is getting so old, she has arthritis in her legs and joints, so she can’t get around like she used to. Since I usually just come home and watch TV and hunt of the weekends, I think getting a new puppy for me to train to hunt would be good. I am 16 so clearly I have the transportation and responsibility part covered. I would pay for all vet visits, food, and everything. My dad works for Pet safe so all the toys and stuff are free for our family. So its really a matter of them letting me have it. The way I see it, is that I so a whole lot of work and this is just a little thing that I am asking. Any ideas on how I could try to convince my parents to let me get a beagle pup.
Have You Heard About The Many Tears Rescue Centre – In Wales?
Posted by: | CommentsThese people rescue, mainly, ex-breeding dogs and bitches. I check their website from time to time, and sadly found one of my own breed on there, but to anybody looking for ‘a breed’ I urge them to look on there as there are literally hundreds of dogs looking for homes right now.

Some Questions About Dogs/cats…?
Posted by: | Comments1. How do you Teach a Dog to Stop Barking.
She is normally outside, but we decided to keep her inside more often, as she is becoming lonely. But she wont stop barking at night while inside. I thought she might stop when we did bring her inside. Every Night, we give her Water and Food, plus a Comfy Bed next to a heater. We also have a cat, (boy, name-toby about 1 3/4 yrs old) and he often stays inside as well. When they were both outside at night, they were fine. Please Help!
2. How to teach her to walk off of the leash?
Ok, well even on the leash, she does tend to run as far as she can, but when i pull her she still does run as far as she can, seemingly choking herself. I was told if you want a dog to walk by your side and at your pace OFF the leash, it must be able to walk well ON the leash. I know she is a small dog, and maybe she wasnt made to go slow because she loves running. Please, is there any hope for this, answer with full instructions.
Finally, 3. How to make her stop fighting with our cat? Normally, they are fine and even sleep in the same bed at night, but sometimes, randomly my dog just starts barking and then my cat wakes up and starts running…? Then My dog chases him around a bit before putting him into a corner where i rescue him. I really wish they could get along. Or maybe If i knew why Roxy had these sudden outbursts, that would be nice too.
And just a bit more info bout them
At first, none of them got along and they wouldnt last 5 seconds in a room together. But now theyre better, sometimes. I want to make that ALL the time, and have my cat know that he will be safe while around my dog.
My Cat, (Toby) is brown/black haired and is about 1 and a half years old. We got him with 4 other kittens, and sold 3 leaving us with the best.
My dog, (Roxy) is about 1 year old, and is a pomeranian and possibly crossed with chuaua, were not sure.
Sorry for it being so long. Best answer gets 10 points. Thanks!
I Have A Few Questions About Last Chance Highway?
Posted by: | Comments1. What states does it go to?
2. Is it for all dogs on www.petfinder.com or special dogs from a last chance highway rescue organization?
3. How do you pay the adoption fee or the dogs free?
4. Do you get to pick a specific dog or do all the dogs just go there and you get to pick?
Well I am getting an Alaskan Malamute this weekend, so, what do you think about that?
Posted by: | CommentsI already have an American White Shepherd but I have decided to get an Alaskan Malamute as well from the local shelter, it is an older dog. All arrangements have been made and they have confirmed that I can provide for the dog and it will be welcomed to my house tomorrow afternoon.
The American White Shepherd was my first dog, the Alaskan Malamute is going to be my second. Awesome right?
Isn’t it just great?
oh I will, despite you people telling me not to get one
