Can anyone think of a good name for a puppy?
Posted by: | CommentsI think this group can think of better names than the dog people, so I thought I’d ask!
My husband and I are getting a puppy for our family for Christmas (we just lost our dog a month ago, and thought this would make a nice family christmas present). We’re getting a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier (Irish breed), medium-sized, very happy, exuberant, eternally puppy-like kind of dog.
Anyway, we don’t know if we’re getting a male or a female yet, so we need to come up with names for both. I feel like I did when I was pregnant coming up with names 
Our other dog was named Finley (Irish name), and we’re trying to think of other Irish names. Or maybe something Christmas-related (I’ve thought of Ivy for a female) since we’re getting one at Christmas. Or just a good name in general would work too =)
Any ideas??

Posted by: | CommentsDont they turn on anyone at the drop of a hat? And when people judge other people based on reputations why is it wrong to judge a breed on reputations. Not bashing either breed just want some info.
has anyone given their dog revolution for fleas and had them have seizures afterwards?
Posted by: | CommentsI have a part-lab/chow who is a little over 2 years old. In Jan of 2009. I gave him revolution for his fleas and heart worms. which I have had him on since November of 2007 and right after that he had a series of cluster seizures and we ended up at the emergency vets and we have had him to a neurologist and spent thousands of dollars on him (which I don’t care, i would mortgage the house to make him better) . But, the vet said it was not the revolution because he had been on it to long. But, we continue to give it to him along with phenobarbital, keppra and zonmside, (three times a day) and 64mg of valium of he has a seizure and he has the worst ones after the Revolution. We gave him his Revolution yesterday and he had 2 violent seizures today. I would appreciate any information or anyone who has had problems with this medication.. thanks
Can anyone tell me what exactly a Chinese Imperial dog is? Is it a small shih tzu?

Posted by: | CommentsI have always gotten my dogs groomed by a professional, but I now have a 5-month old Goldendoodle and I saw they now have a Flowbee type device for dogs. I wondered if anyone has used it on their dog. I would love to groom my dog at home.
Anyone with knowledge about dogs with cancer and type of diet to give?
Posted by: | CommentsMy dog has mast cell tumor on back left leg. It’s a stage 2 that hasn’t traveled. The vet did surgery but it was still cancerous cells in the skin that was outside of the tumor area.They recommended radiation which is so expensive for me. Anyway, she is on science diet i/d. I’m looking into a raw diet for her. I’m afraid to do it, she is sick so, I’m afraid if I give her raw meat she will be subseptible to bacteria easily. I want to do what’s best for her. I haven’t discussed this with my vet yet neither have I given her any raw food. When I discussed K9 immunity to my vet, she felt that it wasn’t right for her. However, I hear great reviews about it. I went to a natural pet store today and she said raw food is the best way to go. They have it frozen and its called nature valley. Since my dog had problems with diarrhea before, blood in stool, I’m very worried about switching her to the raw diet. My vet felt like holistic wasn’t the best thing when others differ. I’m so confused. Help

Doea anyone know if Cairn Terriers can be ok with cats?
Posted by: | CommentsI may have to take in a Cairn Terrier puppy (lest he end up in the pound)…I already have a handicapped cat (cerebellar hypoplasia) so I am worried that with this being a terrier breed, he may be inclined to chase my kitty who really wouldn’t be too good at running away. My kitty’s comfort comes first, but I have a ton of experience with dogs. Can I train a dog to just kind of leave the cat alone? Any tips for socializing a puppy with a cat?

The vet thinks that my Bullmastiff puppy has food allergies. Does anyone know any homemade treat recipes for dogs that I could make him?
