SF Bay area resident. The guy was in office for less than a year and sponsored 2 bills. One pro-gay and the other to pickup dog poop. That’s it. He routinely lied about his Navy discharge and camera store being bombed and even supported the Rev Jim Jones and the koolaid kids and sent a 6yr old boy to his death with the cult.
But, he was gay? Is That why we honor him now? I can think of no other reason to honor a guy killed because he fought to keep another guy off the city council! He never even sponsored a worthwhile bill? What exactly did this guy do besides like young male genitalia?
So, all of SF was fooled by Jim Jones? How many people besides Milk wrote to President Carte on behalf of Rev Jim? Only Harvey.
Oh yeah, and he lived w/ a 16yr old boy hence the young male genitalia remark

Essential dog care questions?

Posted by: admin | Comments (1)

henry — how often clip nails (can I do it myself?)

I figured out the bathing (about 1x per month for husky)

Is their body lanuage/some way of him signalling to me that he has to urinate/defecate so he doesn’t go in the house?

I’m aware consistent same-time each-day eating patterns are important for health as well as so my dog doesnt’ urinate-defecate in the house. WHEN are the best times for his two meals? I was doing around 9pm/9am. is that good?

What’s the purpose of crate training and using a crate? Is it so your dog (being a den animal) won’t urinate/defecate in the crate As well as not chew on furniture? I thought it was just the latter, but realized it might have to do with the former, too.
Also, where’s the “appropriate” place for a dog to pee and poo? Thanks.

She was bathed and groomed in the morning and went to the doggy day care for 4 hours in the afternoon. ( Same place )When I picked her up she was scratching and I saw fleas all over her. I called the day care and they said none of their other dogs at the day care have fleas and she didn’t get them there. The groomer didn’t mention that my dog had fleas when she groomed her…so I know the dog caught them there. NOW, my house will have to be treated , plus my car. I put front line on my dog and it didn’t touch the fleas. How should I deal with the fleas problem?? Call a professional to have the car and the house exterminated?

My mom has him(King) at her house right now but he’s being mistreated there and I HAVE to get him out of there. I feel like a horrible mama ; – {. Her dog has almost ripped his ear of along with just attacking him. I only have 2 people that can take him(and that I trust to keep him).

My cousin could take him. He lives in an apartment but there’s a dog park right down the street(like my old place) and his complex allows pets. Downside,he has a Pitbull puppy and she’s a handful by herself. He also hasn’t seen King besides pictures. Would King be too much of a burden on him?

Second choice would be a close friend. He’s renting a house and the renter allows pets. But he too already has pets. He has a Great Dane he rescued who is deaf and a Pomeranian who’s 2 years old. Both are well behaved, trained, and cared for. He also has a big fenced backyard. And he’s kept King over the weekend for me when I was sick and couldn’t care for him. Would King be too much for him to handle too?

My third option is sneaking him into my place anyway.
I’d pay for all of his needs just like I do now.
And King’s a chocolate lab mix(german shepard I think) puppy, 9 months old.

Which would be best since they’re willing to take him?
He’s neutered.
I’ll still go and see him and play with him like I do now. And I hate the fact that he’s away from me but I had to move to a place I could afford and they don’t accept pets.

Like the title says, I don’t care anymore. i used to be an athletic, straight-A student, with lots of friends, and basically most things going good for me. i mean, i’ve had some bad times in my life (parents divorce ..etc) but i perservered, and it never affected me like the way people say it should have. i used to go out a lot, and i used to ENJOY the things i did.

lately i feel as though i’ve just been going through the motions. i don’t go out anymore, i can feel the distance growing between my friends and myself. my grades are slipping, and i haven’t attended school for almost two months. My poor attendence is due to the fact that i have been genuinely sick, but even that helps to make my “i don’t care” attitude stick. last year, if and when i got sick, i would go to school sick as a dog, and stick it out until the school sent me home! now i honestly don’t care.

i’m not a person who expresses my emotions, so i wrote songs. i can finish a book of songs(lyrics) in a few months, i haven’t written a song in 2 months. i haven’t even picked up an instrument.

i can’ figure it out. i’ve even stopped playing sports! i’ve gained weight, and i went from this optomistic, energetic person, to a pessimistic one with absolutely no enjoyment in life. I can’t find a reason to get up in the mornings, and I DON’T KNOW WHY!

I just don’t care anymore about anything. I’ve failed this term, i’ve let my friends down, i’ve let my team down, but i still don’t feel as though i’ve let myself down. i just don’t give a f*ck about anything or anyone anymore.

Doggie day care experiences?

Posted by: admin | Comments (6)

Hi there!

I just went back to working full-time after graduating from college and I am worried about my dog being alone all day long. I adopted him in December right before my classes ended, so I have had plenty of time to hang out with him until last week.

He’s an extremely energetic dog, a beagle/terrier mix and he’s only about 14 months old, so he really needs to run around and play a lot or he gets restless. He’s been having some serious issues with allergies and his skin is very sensitive. We are doing a food trial so he cannot eat anything but a prescribed diet, and he’s on Temaril-P, which makes him pee like crazy.

I really don’t want to leave him alone all day considering his exercise requirements, and his frequent urination. Last week we left him in a local daycare for a day just to see how he would do. He came home so exhausted he couldn’t walk to the car (my husband had to carry him home!) and he just collapsed in the bed for 12 hours. Maybe it was just too much while fighting those severe allergies and all, but it worries me about what kind of place they run…

Do you leave your dog at a day care? How many times a week? How’s the overall experience? Do you think it’s worth it or is my dog better off at home?

he’s got some really good ideas even though he is just a baby and a hot dog. I’m thinking about sending him to washington to fix all of these problems once and for all. are babies allowed to ride the greyhound by themselves? or should I hide him up in one of thoe overhead storage bins?

I am looking into adopting a 5 month old boxer/basenji mix. From 7 AM to 2:30 PM no one will be home, although some days my dad comes home in the afternoon. Will the puppy be ok during that time span or will I have to find someone to watch it?
