Is my pet ready to lay eggs, or is this a health problem?
Posted by: | CommentsMy White’s Tree Frog has a liquid substance coming out of her rectum. The liquid is the consistency of a thick syrup…..it’s just hanging there. I’ve been tipped off that she could be ready to lay her eggs; is this true?
If not; what could this possibly be?
Thanks so much.

Should the AKC, KC ect require health testing before registering a litter?
Posted by: | CommentsI was just reading an article where Sweden requires health testing for all breeding dogs. My Question. Should the other kennel clubs require this also.
My opinion, It would be simple enough. The reputable breeders do this anyway, and all they would have to do is send in the results with the litter registration. AKC (my org) could then register the litter. If no test results are sent in they could reject the litter. This would in effect weed out the BYB and puppy mills that refuse to do the testing on the grounds of profit. Each breed club could submit what testing is needed for each individual breed. And the required results to be allowed to be breedable.
I realize of course there will always be dishonest people who cheat, But this could be a start.
What is your opinion?
ADD: Actually, I think that a lot of BYB legitimately register with the AKC. All you need it 2 AKC registered dogs, no matter what the quality. And AKC will register them. It is the puppy mills that tend to “lose” and fudge the AKC papers.
I don’t breed so I would love to know if you are a breeder or not so I can get the different perspectives.
I know it would cut down on some of AKC revenues but it would give the AKC or KC registration more clout. (in my humble opinion)
Add some more: This would not be a “law”. And not meant to tie the hands of responsible breeders. They are doing this already. Hence the Breed clubs to decide what tests and acceptable results are necessary for each individual breed, by those that know the breed best. The responsible breeders.
Animal Artwork: In my perfect world, I agree that every potential dog owner (and human parent also) should be required to have training before taking responsibility for another life. But Alas. This is not my perfect world. And we do have to be careful whenever implementing restrictions on freedom.
Add Again Again: Loki. I love your idea. A premium registration!!!. People already pay extra for what they think is something special (aka the dreaded teacups). Just because they think it is better. This would be a great marketing tool for AKC. It would not be creating any more rules. just rewarding those who do what is right by testing and those who purchase the pups from them.
I moved into my apartment 5 months ago. A few weeks after I moved in my great dane started getting really itchy. I checked for fleas, took her to the vet, treated her and still she was itchy. Then the cat came down with the same symptoms. It cost me over $3000 before I too became victim to the bugs. After paying another $500 for treatments I asked my landlord to remove the carpets. He did, and put down new floors. It kept happening and the bites caused me to be hospitalized. I then became pregnant. I am two months pregnant and have found out that the house is invested by bird mites. The landlord will not pay the $2000 to treat the apartment and I can’t be around poison. I want to leave. We have no lease but in order to move out now I need my last months rent and this months rent too. How can I get this? Do i have rights? It is unsafe to live here. My guide dog is sick, I’m sick and I’m pregnant. My only place to stay is a shelter. What can I legally do?
Hah, the guy who claims to be a real estate expert, what a joke. Bird mites are the most difficult pest to rid of, they have become immune to most poisons. Go to www.birdmite.org. And would you like to see the $3000 bills? Yes for 6 months of tests and medications and not knowing what was wrong with a great dane and a cat it can get that expensive. Seriously, get a life.
Thankfully the idiots post was removed from my answers. Thank you Yahoo, report abuse it works!
we got a mini pin and i have a health question easy ten points!?
Posted by: | Commentsshe is about three months now and perfectly healthy and happy and training well. we just noticed that when its quiet in the house, and she romps around you can hear once and a while her back legs crack, like when you crack your knuckles but not as deep a sound. just like a little snap. she runs around and beats up my other dog, there is no pain what so ever. I researched patella luxation but did not find one thing that stated it would make a noise and it also said there would be pain, and there is definitely no pain at all. Before i ran to the vet and looked like a nut I just wanted to ask if dogs joints make noise like peoples do, and if it is normal. thanks
