My English mastiff pup was said to be the “runt” and I just weighed her and she is 18 pounds. I weighed her twice to be certain. If 18 pounds is runt size, what is normal? That seemed like a decent weight to me but then I have nothing to compare it to. I have an older one who was not much bigger, 22 pounds at that same age, does that mean she was a runt too? I know that they are going to be whatever they will be as adults and i cant change that. I am just wondering what the norm is that she could be a runt at 9 weeks and 18 lbs.
I would like to add, the breeder gave me $250 off the price for the runt. That is a HUGe difference, so I cant help but think she must really have been TINY, and my other is not yet adult either and she was shipped to me so I didnt see her sibblings in oerson, now she is just at 4 months and only weighs 40 lbs, I am now seeing many at her age who are double the weight.

Will an English Mastiff get along with my goats?
Posted by: | CommentsI live on an acre and a quarter of land and my family loves big dogs. Last year we got 3 goats that live in a fenced pen in the yard. My question is, will they be ok together when we are not home? We are thinking about getting an english mastiff puppy, not one that is full grown yet. I’m not quite sure about the temperament of these big dogs and if they can get along. thanks!

What do I do about my skinny Mastiff Puppy?
Posted by: | CommentsI have a 1 year old female Old English Mastiff. She is very skinny and will not eat much food. I feed her IAMS Large Breed dog food and have tried changing her bowl thinking that she didn’t like the stainless steel bowl. It did not help. She will basically snack all day, taking a bite or two here and there. Sometimes will go a whole day without eating, then go and eat very quickly. I am feeding her 6 cups a day, but most days she doesn’t eat it all. She is extremely skinny and no where near where she should be at this point in her life cycle. She does not have worms. Is there any suggestion?

English Mastiff helps clean the house

Dozer is a lot better at cleaning up now but this was when he was first starting out. He was about 11 months old here.
