ok.. so today i was brushing her outside.. and i found that her fur looked in horried condition because i havent brushed her for who knows how long! =(… i admit i HAVE negected her.. the reason why? she is locked in a little room, it acts like her big kennel. i guess.. but she does get food and water daily. 2 meals a day.. and she does get potty time! but no one has really interacted with her. for along time! i feel so bad! and i sorta forget about her.. and i always have to make sure she doesnt get out when i open the door :(

but right now people are working on our fence so there isnt a fence but there is a a little thing that fences our backyard.. i cant explain it sorry.. i forgot what its called.. any ways.. i know what i have done is wrong.. and now i feel that i must take care of her properly.. i have had this feeling before but now i think its time.. ive always seen dogs with the same condition as my dog and now i feel DISGUSTED..

but honestly.. she isnt my dog. ok ok she is but.. i found her wandering on the street.. near my drieway. so i spent over 2 hours going door to door asking if this is their dog.. all the answers i got was “no but i hope you find her owner” so now its been two years.. we took her to the vet to get her shots and stuff.. but now im very worried.. you see her ears are reall gross… if you get a cotton ball with nothing on the cotton ball and just lightly rub agaisnt the inside of her ear there is brown stuff on it.. im going to get peroxide and clean out her ears with the peroxide and cotton ball :) ..

but as i was saying.. i was brushing her cause i havent brushed her in a while,.. and i noticed that her fur was shedding heavily.. so i brushed and after a few brushes the brush i used was all filled up with her fur.. so i did this multiple times until i gave up.. i did this over 10 mintues,.. but while i was brushing.. there were these little flecks of white.. thinking it was flea eggs or mites or whatever i inspected one very closely.. it was not eggs or mites or whatever.. but instead it looked like a very thin fleck of a rectangular piece of dried up skin.. AKA dandruff.. i was so shocked because every time you brushed her fur there were BILLIONS of these things popping out from underneath her fur.. it was so disgusting! im pretty sure she doesn have any worms.. but im going to check next time.. lol..

QUESTIONS:
1.does anyone know what she has? like an infection, disease..ETC?

2. and how can i treat her skin and dandruff or whatever the specks are? i cant go to the vet.. my parents dont like putting her in the car because she will ruin the seats.. and she will not get out of the car… if you can even put her in the car!!

3. i know i am abusing her but i will buy her a kennel as soon as i earn the money! so no mean comments about that! (this isnt a question i know)

4. and about the ears is it ok to pour peroxide on the COTTON BALL and rub her ears with the cotton ball?! im NOT going to pour peroxide down her ear!! just rub her ears with a cotton ball that has peroxide on them!

5. is there any HOME remedy to soothe her skin? on her right thigh near her tail.. her fur is “thining”..why is this? and it feels very “rough” and greasy sorta

she is a border collie and around the age of 3 and a half!! i know cause the vet told us!!

thank you! ANY QUESTIONS? PLEASE DONT HESITATE TO ASK ME BY EMAIL!
excuse me but i know she is in a bad situation right now i dont need complete strangers telling me what i did wrong!

AND TO THE FIRST ANSWER:; her ear does NOT smell bad it doesnt smell at all infact!!

What skin issue does my dog have?

Posted by: admin | Comments (2)

My dog has black crusty patches on his skin. They appear to cause him no pain, but washing the affected area removes the patches along with all surrounding fur.

My dog’s history:
-16y/o male Miniature Pinscher w/ rust colored fur.
-diagnosed w/ Lyme Disease and chronic liver failure.
-primarily indoor dog; only goes outside on grass to relieve himself.
-general environmental allergy causes tearing.
-does not appear to be in pain/ suffering (actively seeks food, occasional attention within his ability).

Considering his age and history, I am more curious about the patches than concerned. All I really want at this point is for him to be comfortable (meaning I’ll put him down if he is actually suffering). Any advice, recommendations are much appreciated.

Dog fur clumping, dry skin? WEIRD yorkie?

Posted by: admin | Comments (3)

I’m getting a dog and talked to a neighbor about hers.(yorkie) I looked at him and he had wierd clumps. Not mats exactly, which are usually a big flat mess of fur… his skin seemed dry and flaking a bit. But the fur was like clumped into little hair blobs all over his body, little messy blobs that were sort of pulling away from his skin.. with regular fur on the outer ends. When I gave one a little tug on a blob, it fell out! (gag) Anyone ever seen a problem like this? I’ve never seen a yorkie in that condition. She just got him from the pound and is considering shaving him down.
Ick…no marks on the skin at all. I have seen mange on tv and don’t think that’s it. It is very odd though, never seen anything like it.
