I need a dog - that has short hair (doesent shed insainly) - is small and doesent have a lot of health problems such as shar-peis (have skin flaps) and often get skin infections
actually short haired dogs shed the most shedding is when the coat gets long the ends of the dog’s coat come off as we know as shedding.http://animal.discovery.com/breedselecto…
Min Pin Short Coated Chihuahua Boston Terrierhttp://puppydogweb.com/dogs/images/bosto… (May have the most hereditary issues of the three, be sure to use a reputable breeder with a written health guarantee)http://allthecritters.files.wordpress.co… (May have the toughest time housebreaking of the three BUt the healthiest one, least amount of hereditary issues Can be yappy, needs obedience training)http://www.toypomeranian.com/Picture_117… (this photo came up in a search for Chihuahuas and does not appear anything like a pom. This breed may be the best of all)
First of all, all dogs shed and their shedding is determined by more than just hair lenght. All breeds, every type, is going to have they health problems. I think that skin infections are a small problem compared to what some dogs get. I.e. hip/elbow dysplayia (sp?) heart problems, weight issues(large breeds mastiffs etc.) Research the small breeds you are thinking about and teach yourself. Remember there is more to picking a breed than what you just said.
When you make the commitment of becoming a dog owner it is best you know what you get into. You are wise to try and find out which dog is best for you. However, this is a choice in which you are best guided by people who know all about the endless variables that come into play here. It is not as straightforward as it might seem on first sight, because with races come different characters and behavior types. Don’t take the chance of ending up with the wrong type of dog. Take a look at this: http://pinurl.com/a9b It might help. Let me know it it was useful. Good luck.
I have a shih-tzu and he is absolutely my pride & joy! He doesn’t shed and you keep keep his hair trimmed short if you like. He is such a good boy and was so easy to train. Very smart and loving. They’re also great dogs for people that have allergies!

Go to the spca and adopt a pet, of course they don’t have any fancy name, but they are the best pets.
