You should love him just the way he is! And not try to change him. Are all people the same size? Maybe he’ll grow more. Maybe he’s just going to be small.
Are you using a good food, or grocery grade? Was he the runt? Give him another month or so. If you’re still concerned, take him to the vet, or at least just call.
As long as he is at a good body weight (if you can easily feel his ribs, but can’t see them), then there’s nothing for you to really do. He might still have some growing to do, or he might just be small for his breed.
All dogs have a growing spurt so wait out he might get bigger, if not then his size now might be it. Ask your vet for advice or go to a web site for your dogs breed. If he was the runt he might not get to the same size as a normal dog of his breed. Love him anyway!
I sure hope you don’t act like this with your kids………I mean unless he is deformed small don’t trip he will either get there or he wont. Obviously you aren’t showing him or this wouldn’t be a question…..so will you love him less if hes a little small or what is the big deal. maybe you should either put more info in your question or just love him for who he is unless your absolutely perfect and need that in your dog as well.
you need to include more details, like where did you get him? what breed is it? how old? what do you feed him? when i got my dog, i was told by the people that owned the parents that she was a husky/malamute mix. i only saw the dog that was supposed to be the mom, but i think they lied. She was supposed to be a big dog about 50 lbs, but she turned out to be medium size, with short legs a long body, with a chow coat and black spots on her toungue like a chow. i think she’s adorable anyway. maybe we’re in the same boat and he’s mixed with another breed that’s making him smaller. If you’ve been taking good care of your dog and he’s been eating a proper diet and is free of parasites, then he should be ok. If you think there’s something wrong, like he could be under nourished, take him to the vet to make sure he’s healthy.
my dog has stopped growing at 1 and a half years old… we took her to the vet and she said that its a slight “deformity”n and basicly she is a midget dog …i know sounds funny.
