Some dogs do it out of excitement? is that what your dog does? i forget what the call it…a reverse cough/sneeze. my dog does it when he gets excited, and thats what the vet told us it was.

animals can have asthma but it sounds like he’s just coughing. Sometimes dog coughing sounds like people wheezing.

YES! animals CAN have asthma. My one year old cat does. Just don’t smoke in the house, and use the hood fan above your stove, when things you cook start to smoke, even a little. Boston Terriors also have a stunted muzzle. Some of the wheezing is natural, but if it sounds harsh and/or painful, i’d say he just might have asthma.

Go see a vet. he/she might be sick

I don’t know. What I do know is you should get your furbaby to a veterinarian. I was once told that dogs don’t cough. There is a reason and it could be simple, or it could be – as with my baby girl – Heartworm. No, she was not an outside dog, all she did outside was her business. Get him checked out just to make sure of what it really is. Unless there is a veterinarian hanging around here waiting to answer you I’d go talk to your vet – or get one if you don’t have one. Best wishes!!!!!

Boston terriers have a hard time breathing because their snouts are pushed in, this causes them to wheeze. This is also the case for pugs, pekegnise, shitzus and bull dogs.
